Yang Pan-hou taught the Kuang P'ing type to Wong Jiao-yu. His followers declared it was a secret of the Yang household's that was never taught to the hated Manchus. Wong apparently taught Kuo Lien-ying, who was already a master of northern Shaolin kung fu. Kuo was also a well-known master of pa-kua chang. Kuo later reduced the type and taught his condensed variation to thousands of trainees. When Mao Tse-tung took power in China, Kuo left to Taiwan and later on to San Francisco's Chinatown, where he taught the art.
